Facial mask – The origin
The origin of facial mask started long before the dawn of civilization. Facial mask already existed thousands of years ago before the rise of these different cosmetics that we are crazy about. Let’s take a look at some of its history.
In the Egyptian empire, wealthy people are believed to put on facial masks to maintain their charm. The said first ever face mask they have used is clay. Well maybe that explains the birth of the now famous dead sea mud face mask.
Egyptians have their clay mask while In India they have the so called UBTAN in Ayurveda tradition. Ubtan is an ayurvedic recipe. During the ancient time (Vedic Age) Vedic physicians prescribed ubtan for protection and beautification of the skin. It i:s popular amongst men and women because of the effective result. Ubtan is not only for aesthetic purpose but for religious rituals as well. It is now being used during festivities and wedding ceremonies.
During China’s dynasty era beauty mask is a popular tradition that is believed to improve their complexion and to diminish wrinkles.
Other history of facial masks can be traced in each in every country and it goes on and on.

Face mask application
Others may refute but I would suggest using face mask once or twice a week. No matter what your skin type once or twice a week facial mask application would be more beneficial. Remember not to over do it to avoid irritation.
Wash you face before anything else, apply face mask and leave it for about 5-10 mins. Others would leave it for 15 mins, that depends on your time. But with in those range is great!
P.S. Face mask is for both men and women. Who says men don’t need skin treatment too?
